In this role you will work with the Product team, Infrastructure team, and QA team, to produce highly maintainable, efficient, and highly reliable code. Your goal will be to develop software, including webapps and desktop, which handle large amount data to trade on, monitor, and control a highly efficient technology used by several markets around the world, including ourselves.
• Designs, codes, tests, integrates, and documents scalable front-end applications and APIs.
• Collaborates with UX designers to translate wireframes and mock-ups into high-quality, responsive applications.
• Provides technical leadership to more junior employees and other teams.
• Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in internal review of software components and systems.
• Apply and champion the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products.
• Keep abreast of technology trends and champion new ideas and process improvements.
• 5+ years development experience in frontend development, ideally with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with React.
• Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and web fundamentals (accessibility, security, performance, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility etc.).
• Experience designing and developing data driven applications (ideally, but not necessarily, for finance/trading use cases).
• Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Comfortable developing on WSL/Linux.
• Python development knowledge is a plus; you will need to work with Python APIs.
• Good understanding of version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of capital markets technologies, protocols, and standards will help but not mandatory.
• Understanding of cloud technology, and Infrastructure as Code is also a plus.
• Most importantly, a drive to solve complex technological problems with a great team of talented developers.

• 10+ years development experience in >= C++11 and Boost creating performant, scalable applications.
• 6+ years of experience in networking (UDP, Multicasting, TCP, etc...), messaging, and algorithms.
• 6+ years of experience on Linux systems.
• Good understanding of modern development best practices and methodologies
• Python development knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of capital markets technologies, protocols, and standards will help but not mandatory.

The primary responsibilities of the Support Analyst will be maintaining, and running the Aquis and Aquis client exchange platforms.
• Responsible, along with other operational team members, for the day-to-day running and maintenance of the Aquis platforms.
• Providing first line support, answering phone calls and monitoring help desk systems, dealing with basic issues and escalating other calls to the appropriate person.
• Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries
• Performing troubleshooting and collection of information for effective issue diagnosis and internal escalation
• Maintain security reference data for the admissions/withdrawals/amends/edits of securities across all platforms.
• Maintain and enhance knowledge base and documentation.
• Work with other departments (Compliance, Surveillance, Infrastructure and Sales) to ensure appropriately monitored live operations of all platforms
• Raise and deploy changes to support the day to day running of multiple exchange platforms.
• Compile outage reports for any production outages which occur on the operated platforms once the outage has been rectified
• Ensure processes are streamlined
• Ensure process maps are followed to reduce risk.
• Work with teams internally to streamline and enhance operational tool functionality and capture requirements for future development.
Essential
• Degree level qualification and/or 3 years of experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
• Prior experience in operation or technical support role
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to a non-technical audience
• Confidence to take inbound calls and make outbound calls
• Experience with FIX Protocol
• Exposure to UK and EU equity markets including understanding of trade lifecycle
• Ability to write SQL queries and a strong understanding of relational databases
• Experience using Unix/Linux servers
• Previous use of GIT version control or similar
• Scripting experience e.g. bash/shell, python or similar
• Experience with Binary Protocols
• Dashboard creation in Grafana
• Previous experience with Atlassian product suite
• Basic networking concepts and troubleshooting – TCP/UDP, telnet, IP, Ports etc

The primary objective is to work as part of the Aquis Technologies Sales Team as a subject matter expert, supporting the sales process to ensure that prospective clients are fully informed about the capabilities of our Technologies product offering. This will involve being involved in most stages of the sales cycle from initial prospect meetings through to closing and will be an integral part of the success of the Technologies Sales department.
• Work with the sales team to identify prospect requirements and remove technical and functional blockers to the sales process.
• Prepare and deliver presentations that go into some depth around Aquis Technologies product offerings as and when required.
• Document prospect requirements and ensure working with the product team and other departments that these are appropriately scoped and sized.
• Be responsive to prospect requests.
• Contribute extensively to prospect RFI and RFP responses as a subject matter expert on all things Aquis Technologies.
• Ensure appropriate involvement from internal staff where responses need to be given to prospects in a timely manner but the Pre-Sales Engineer does not have the necessary knowledge or expertise.
• Document work in salesforce to ensure overall tracking of prospects remains accurate.
• Document ideas and requirements from prospective clients.
The Pre-Sales Engineer is a highly visible role within the Aquis Technologies sales process. As such this individual should be highly communicative and presentable, comfortable dealing with everyone from support analysts to C-suite at prospective clients.
• Good understanding of equities trading and market structure in both advanced and simple jurisdictions.
• Good understanding of physical and virtual infrastructure including servers, switches and networking.
• Good understanding of operating systems and software including SQL (any experience with QuestDB beneficial), configuration files, shell scripting, Grafana and Electron applications.
• Good understanding of business level trading functions including different order book types and matching functionality, FIX and binary trading APIs, market data systems, regulatory reporting systems, market surveillance systems.
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented writer.
• Basic understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Basic understanding of quality assurance.
• Basic understanding of regulatory implications of different trading models.
• Basic knowledge of vanilla listed derivatives (futures, options, swaps) and fixed income asset classes.
• Business level fluency in languages other than English.
• Salesforce experience.
