Further patents granted in Africa

Sulnox, the greentech company delivering lower fuel costs and emissions, at zero capex, is pleased to announce that it has secured a valuable patent from the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) covering eight further countries.

The latest patent, designated in respect of Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, is a major development supporting Sulnox's pursuit of partnerships and collaborations with large industrial groups in the substantial African market. The continent's GDP growth is expected to reach 4.2% in 2025, higher than the global average of 3.2% (Source: African Development Bank).

Among the newly patent-protected territories, Sulnox has been operating successfully in Ghana for more than three years, chiefly supplying the road transport sector. Sales voIumes there continue to gain momentum, both with new customers and repeat orders, and the country has been a very effective springboard into the wider African market.

Consistent with the company's existing patent in South Africa, and with several others gained to date in other major markets globally, the ARIPO patent covers a range of formulation versions which includes both the Berol® 6446 Heavy Sulphur Fuel Oils (HSFO) emulsifiers and Sulnox Eco™ Fuel Conditioners which enhance all diesel, petrol/gasoline, biofuels, and marine fuels including Marine Gas Oil (MGO) and Marine Diesel Oil (MDO), Very and Ultra Low Sulphur Fuel Oils (VLSFO/ULSFO) and HSFO.

Sulnox holds an additional patent in Nigeria for fuel oil reclamation, protecting an improved oil / water separation methodology developed by the company.

Ben Richardson, CEO of Sulnox, commented:

"The ARIPO patent marks a step change in our strategy for the Africa, where we are working with a number of partners to deploy our products across a range of industries.  Gaining wider protection for our innovation in some of Africa's largest and most developed countries undoubtedly improves Sulnox's prospects for revenue growth, particularly in the continent's key sectors such as shipping, mining and road transport. We look forward to announcing further progress in Africa and expansion of our patent portfolio as we target new sectors and markets worldwide."
